Our exterior products are sealed with Australian Timber Oil. This is a one-coat finish that is very forgiving and easy to apply. We recommend that you re-apply every year to keep the color and tone of your wood and follow all manufacturer instructions (cleaning, etc) before application. If you prefer the natural color deterioration of your outdoor pieces, failure to apply oil will result in a gray or silver tone. In many cases, a thorough sanding and re-seal will rejuvenate your woods natural beauty and restore color to the piece. In extreme weather conditions (excess sunlight / moisture) outdoor products may have to be sealed every few months.
The general rule of thumb is this: If you are comfortable, so is your furniture. By following the recommendations found above, we can assure the longevity of all of the wooden pieces in your home.
